STI’s Alarm Helps Prevent Theft of Costly Fire Extinguishers
Having an extinguisher accessible – and not stolen – helps keep everyone safe in case of a fire. With the cost of fire extinguishers on the rise, it is now more important than ever to protect these vital units.
STI reports the solution to help stop extinguishers from being stolen is the highly effective Theft Stopper® (STI-6200) alarm. The battery-operated alarm offers a unique steel cable operated switch mechanism, to help stop theft and vandalism of fire extinguishers.
If the protected fire extinguisher is moved from its normal position, the device emits a piercing alarm (95 or 105 dB). This alarm helps draw attention to a fire extinguisher and the vandal will either run or be caught. Completely self-contained, the device does not interfere with firefighting in any way. In case of a real fire, the alarm helps draw attention to the area.
The unit is easy to install and includes symbols and 20 labels to warn in two languages. Comes complete with a 9-volt battery, mounting hardware, and a short cable to deactivate the alarm for service of the fire extinguisher. The alarm can also protect other emergency equipment.
